Korean clarinetist, Donghyeon Choi performed nationally and internationally and has been consistently recognised for his extremely high level of musicianship and technical prowess on the clarinet.
Avid chamber music enthusiast, Mr. Choi has been selected to participate in masterclasses at Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. In addition, he is currently in the mentorship program of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
Donghyeon was awarded 1st Prize at the Korea Herald Music Competition, Yeongsan Music Competition, Hanyang University Music Competition, The University of Seoul Music Competition, Korea Mozart Music Competition and was also a finalist in the OSAKA International Music Competition.
Committed to serving communities, Mr. Choi has been visiting Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and South Korea in order to share musical performances with the World Milal Missionary Choir and Orchestra. Serving as a principal clarinettist in the orchestra, he has performed at Carnegie Hall.
He has received trainings at Manhattan School of Music with Pascual Martinez and Mark Nuccio, and has earned a Professional Studies Certificate in Orchestral Performance Program at Manhattan School of Music. Mr. Choi is currently pursuing a position in New World Symphony, Civic of Chicago and Symphony in C as an assistant member.
